This history of Cervinia and the history of teh Alps and of Central Europe, places of difficult access, but rich in possibilities, created small dwellings in this area over thousands of years. Celts, Romans, Germanic Peoples, all of them have come and settled here at one time or another, and created the first cities. Today, the history of Cervinia and of the Alps is intertwined with the word, 'ski.'

Over three thousand years ago, the first populations settled in the region of Cervinia. It was when the Romans came that we found the first documents about the area.

The origins of Breuil Cervinia started around 200 years ago when the Breuil bowl was an impressive Alpine snow bank, that you could only get to on foot. Breuil is a land of water, this is why the area is always green. The quantity of rivers, streams, and brooks that come throuth the area of Cervino, to this place, make it green all summer long.

During the 20th century, Cervinia and its neighbouring villages had been converted into a worldwide reference for ski lovers. Optimal conditions blessed the area from 1936, a year when the first ski lift was built in Breuil Cervinia to Plan Maison. The development was impressive, and was considered to be quite an evolution.

Cervinia today is one of the main world ski resorts. Since 1936, the changes this place has gone through is impressive, from its beginnings as a small village, to the rise of hotels and apartments, restaurants, rural houses to rent, ski schools, shops, rafting and alpine schools....
